Every time we use a toothbrush, up to a hundred bacteria remain on it. And that's not counting all the bacteria that get trapped on the toothbrush just because it's on the bathroom shelf.
Harmful particles fly through the bathroom every time we flush the toilet. So how to clean the toothbrush well? Here's some advice!
Alcohol
Try soaking your toothbrush in alcohol. It will kill all the bacteria. Afterwards, if you rinse the toothbrush thoroughly with water, you can immediately use it to brush your teeth.
Mouthwash
Sometimes it is recommended to soak your toothbrush in mouthwash. This essentially acts as a disinfectant and should therefore also be able to kill bacteria. However, it has a lower alcohol content, so leave the toothbrush submerged in it for a few minutes.
Hot water
Pouring hot water over the toothbrush will have a similar effect. Simply douse it for ten seconds and the hot water will effectively clean the bristles.
Vinegar
Vinegar is also known for its excellent cleaning effects. You can rid your toothbrush of bacteria with its help as well.
You can choose any of the above cleaning methods. Even so, don't forget to change your toothbrush every three months. This is the best way to prevent bacteria from growing on your toothbrush. Bacteria is also a problem if you have open cabinets and shelves in the bathroom, where the toilet is.
